Neil Patel did a great write up on using scrapebox for whitehat SEO. You can find the full article here: Scrapebox Whitehat SEO
There are MANY ways you can use scrapebox for whitehat SEO, and Neil covers some great methods in the article. There are of course many more uses, if you just learn how to use Scrapebox and be creative, but neither he nor I can give away All the secrets of how we use scrapebox.
I can assure you though, as part owner of a full brick and mortar seo company, we use scrapebox for many things “outside the box” of what all too many marketers stereo type scrapebox as. Be creative, think things thru, you will find dozens if not hudreds of white hat applications. If your looking for black hat, don’t think about scrapebox as a blog commenter, just pretend it doesn’t even do blog commenting, then you will be able to think about it more creatively!
The alive checker addon can be used for a lot of general site monitoring, checking to see if your pages are up etc.. It also lets you specify status codes to return as alive or dead and it gives you the option to follow redirected urls or not. This would come in handy even if you only have 1 site, but especially if you have multiple sites you can monitor them all at once. I briefly go over how to use scrapebox to get a list of the urls on your site, if you don’t have one already, more detail on this is in the prior video on this blog.
Using the link checker to track your paid nofollow links (totally google compliant) is a great way to make sure some of what you have paid for hasn’t been removed, either on purpose or by accident. You can of course use the link checker for many other things as well.
A coupe of scrapeboxes many whitehat uses is creating sitemaps and rss feeds for your site. You can do this in scrapebox, 100% whitehat. It seems logical to start with what google has indexed, but if you don’t want to touch google you can do it just with tools in scrapebox and only be connecting to your own site.
You can create a flat sitemap that lets you distribute link juice around a site as well as give search engine bots a place to start to crawl your entire site. I have heard that you can even submit the RSS feed in place of a sitemap in google webmaster tools, as its a properly formatted xml file, and then google will often crawl the entire site within minutes.
You can use the keyword scraper in scrapebox for whitehat uses. For example, one method is simply doing keyword research. If you use google suggest, google will tell you what most people wind up searching for when they start with a particular keyword. The entire google suggest is based on search volume. The more people that search for say
the more likely car wash is to show up when you type the word
So you can go into the keyword scraper in scrapebox, put in your keywords, and then scrape all the google suggest, yahoo suggest and bing suggestions for those keywords. Then you can remove duplicate keywords, and eyeball the keywords to make sure they are related to your niche/what you are after. As some things listed there just won’t be a good fit for your particular niche.
Then you can even feed those keywords back to the scraper and get even more results. You can continue to do this until you have a nice list of closely related and long tail keywords. After the pengin update, we all know its especially important to use diverse anchor texts in your link profile.
Depending on your particular niche there are other options, such as amazon suggest. I personally wouldn’t use amazon suggest if I was working with something like “car insurance” but if I was after say “buy chocolates” then I would use amazon suggest. So you should be able to look at the options and tell what is going to be a good fit for your niche and what is not.
Once thats done, you may even be able to find more opportunities to make money. You can run your new keyword list thru the google competition finder. You may find some keywords that work out to have a low competition, but wind up making you some good money. Then you can develop campaigns around those keywords.
There are other creative ways to do keyword research and creatively use keyword data in scrapebox as well, all white hat style.
